The name “febi” was applied for the first time to spring bolts; series production started. Within a few years the company shifted its focus towards the spare parts business. |

Reconstruction after the end of the war. Production initially focused on basic goods such as lighters, hand-held drills and oil mills. However, the company grew fast. By the year 1947 the number of people working at febi had reached 200. |
| 1951 |
Programme extended to include spare parts for heavy goods vehicles. The company moved into the production of parts for commercial vehicles, growing demand was met by in-house production. Machine tools, which the company made itself, were used to produce above all wheel bolts. |
| 1981 |
Pioneer in the CNC technology. febi was one of the first companies to develop a computer aided manufacturing capability. Step-by-step, the company’s entire plant was converted to CNC technology. |
| 1986 |
Expanding warehouse capacity by building a high-stack warehouse. One of the company’s goals at this time was to enable its customers to keep their inventories low. In order to meet customer requirements in this respect, the capacity of the high-stack warehouse was doubled in 1990. |
| 1991 |
Foundation of the subsidiary febi UK. febi spare parts are needed not just in Germany but wherever automobile and commercial vehicles are deployed. febi has now representatives around the world in order to maintain maximum customer proximity. Today, febi bilstein is known for high quality and reliability in over 130 countries – and the growth in exports has been correspondingly positive. |
| 1997 |
Computer-controlled high-stack warehouse. This optimises the efficiency and speed of operation. This has significantly improved product availability, in the interest of the customer. At the same time, the company’s production has been continuously expanded. |
| 1998 |
Broad range of products. For the first time febi bilstein passed the magic number of 10,000 permanently stocked, listed articles. By the year 2001 the product range has grown to approx. 15,000 articels. |
